Diamond needs an active brazing alloy for thermal fixing on a medium.
CERABRAZE 690 can be applied for all conventional soldering methods, flame brazing and induction soldering. Typical areas of application exist in the tool industry. Free standing diamond (CERATON CVD), Symono-diamond (product name of company Ceratonia for synthetic monocrystals) or natural diamond needs an active brazing alloy for thermal fixing on a medium (ideally carbide).
CERABRAZE 690 is particularly suitable for soldering on carbide, also for hard wettable materials e.g. molybdenum, chrome, tungsten and tantalum. It can be applied for all conventional soldering methods, flame brazing and induction soldering (not suitable for vaccuum brazing). CERABRAZE 690 contains flux and a low melting silver brazing alloy. It allows an excellent capillary flow and a constantly, good soldering result.
The components must reach at least the temperature of 690 °C too. The solvent of the brazing alloy evaporates in the heating process between 400° - 500° C (smoke). Due to the small solder surfaces in the tool industry specific containment levels during heating are not required (the debinding is carried out as part of the heating of the components)
the paste residues are corrosive and should be removed carefully.
